Norm Torello, President

Licensed architect, retired owner’s representative and large-scale project manager

Norm joined MELP in June 2023 initially to coordinate Wednesday intake efforts but quickly got involved with outreach and other activities. He was elected President in 2024. Norm also volunteers with the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop and KQED.

At has been a pillar of community service for decades — as a San Carlos Rotarian since 2011 and current club President, a ten-year Presbyterian Church mission leader, and a MELP/AbleCloset supporter since its inception who now serves on its Board of Directors. Professionally, he co-founded Hexagon Transportation Consultants, retiring after a distinguished career in traffic engineering and transportation planning.

Scott McMullin, Director

Retired Manager of Quality Assurance in the Food Industry.

Scott was one of the co-founders of MELP in 2021 and helped facilitate the merge with AbleCloset in 2023. With a strong interest in challenges faced by the elderly, he served for seven years on the San Mateo County Commission on Aging and is on the Boards of Villages of San Mateo County and Independent Seniors Network

Marie Violet, Director

Marie is a retired Occupational Therapist with a specialization in Pediatrics. She also served as an ASPO Certified Childbirth Educator and as Director of the Health & Wellness Department at Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital. In retirement, she remains actively engaged in her community as a volunteer with the Friends of the Belmont Library, Villages of San Mateo County, MELP, and the Belmont Community Foundation.
